Kroger Fuel Savings Program and Giveaway

by Katie on March 3, 2010

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending a meet and greet at the Hyde Park Kroger, along with several other local bloggers. We had the opportunity to sit down and discuss the role Kroger has in our communities, and in the lives’ of our families. While I always knew Kroger had a high standard of quality and commitment to their customers, I was amazed to hear how very honored their executives felt that families trusted their chain of stores to put food on their families’ tables.

While talking with the folks from Kroger, I was quite impressed with their overwhelming emphasis on their customers. From striving to find ways to enhance their customers’ shopping experience, to making the stores more “user friendly”, they are working to leave no stone unturned in the area of customer service.

In keeping with this philosophy, Kroger recently rolled out their new Fuel Rewards Program in an effort to help their customers save even more money at the pumps. With this new program, Kroger has teamed up with Shell fuel stations in Cincinnati, Dayton, Knoxville, Nashville, and San Diego.

Earning fuel rewards is as simple as filling up your grocery cart at your local Kroger store. For every $100 you spend at Kroger, you’ll earn 100 fuel reward points, which is equivalent to $0.10 off per gallon. You can earn an additional 100 points for every $50 spent in gift card purchases at Kroger and for every 2 eligible prescriptions filled.

Fuel rewards can be accumulated for a maximum of $1.00 off per gallon at Kroger fuel pumps, and a maximum of $0.10 off per gallon at Shell. These rewards are valid for up to 35 gallons per fuel purchase.

In addition to saving money at the pump, Kroger would like to treat 2 of my readers to a $25 Kroger gift card! You have three ways to enter this giveaway:
  1. Leave a comment on this post telling your favorite thing about your local Kroger store and/or if you plan to use the fuel rewards program.
  2. Post about this giveaway on your blog or facebook page, and leave a separate comment letting me know that you posted it.
  3. Subscribe via feedburner and let me know you subscribe (if you already subscribe, you can leave a comment letting me know that for an extra entry as well).

This giveaway will end on Wednesday, March 10th at 9:00 p.m. At that time, I’ll select two winners using Random.org. The winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize, or a new winner will be selected.

While you’re zooming around the internet checking out the location of the closest participating Shell pump, be sure to stop by the sites of the other awesome bloggers who participated in this Kroger event:

Many of these bloggers are also in the process of giving away Kroger gift cards, so stop by and increase your chances of winning!

Disclaimer: Kroger provided me with a $25 gift card as well as (2) $25 gift cards to give away on this blog. In addition, Kroger filled up my gas tank when I attended this event. While the gift cards and gas fill up are compliments of Kroger, the thoughts and opinions in this post are 100% my own.

I like the produce at Kroger too. It's worth a little bit more money if the produce will last longer. I also like the coupons they send. I got two free boxes of cereal last month from them. That's awesome!

I HEART Kroger! It is really the only place I ever shop as the one closest to me is quiet and friendly! They are very nice and I can absolutely trust that if I can't find something, I can ask ANYONE and they will go out of their way to help. Grocery shopping is such an interesting thing..you KNOW you will do it every week…and the people feel like friends. I already use the fuel rewards program at the gas pump there (Kroger) but love that I can go to shell stations also! Oh…and I just signed up to your feed!!!! Thanks!!!!

I was in Arizona a couple of years ago, Bought a Brach's candy from the bulk aisle from the Kroger affiliate. When I got back to Cincy I looked in several Kroger stores for this candy with no luck. I finally emailed Kroger. Received several email from them about the product which they no longer carried the Brach's bulk items. The manager of my local store called me saying a friend of hers was coming in for the holiday from Scottsdale and would bring me some on the airplane if I could tell her what area I 'd shopped in.. Now that is going the EXTRA MILE. I've email several store with no contact from them about a product or service. I feel Kroger does care about their customers.
Thank you

I used to shop Kroger years ago and then went to the Wmart supercenter, believing they were the low price leader in the area. Almost a year ago, I started doing my own investigation and found that not only did Kroger have comparable regular prices, but they sales they offer and selection of brands makes it "no contest." I now shop at Kroger everytime and I use my fuel point at the Kroger station. Shell is closer to me, so this is just another plus from my favorite retailer. Oh, and the fact I can use cellfire coupons directly onto my card….saves me time and money.

I moved to Central Ohio from rural southern Missisissippi, not knowing what a freeway was must less a Kroger. I only was familiar with shopping and walmart for everything or going to Winn Dixie when you could not find it a walmart. My sister lived in Tennennesse and that is when she became addicted to Kroger. I then started trying Kroger very, very cautiously to make sure I got a great deal. The more that I went the more super dooper deals I found. Then I started couponing and loading coupons to my card and stacking the discounts with my sunday coupons or printed coupons. I love the fact that Kroger contributes to the community and is a great supporter of 4-H. I am just now taking advantage of the fuel rewards. I wasn't really sure how it worked in the past, but I have figured out more about it. I try to cut my costs anyway possible and stay on top of all the sales and deals going on at all stores. Thank you, Chris Farmer
