LaserX Review & Giveaway

by Katie on November 23, 2016

One of the hottest toys on the market this season is LaserX – a brand new, technologically advanced laser blaster system.  The ultimate high-tech game of tag, LaserX gives kids the opportunity to play laser tag indoors or outdoors any day of the week.

The LaserX sets all work together, so a game can consist of just two players or can include the entire neighborhood!  The advanced sensors in the LaserX give players pinpoint accuracy up to 200 feet away.  Plus, the sensors know when players are blasting, being hit, hiding, or running.

While in the midst of the game, an interactive “coach” uses the information from the sensors to give players tips and tricks to help their strategy throughout the game.  As kids play, the receiver vest keeps track of their hits.  Once a player has reached 10 hits, they are eliminated from the game.

When playing in a group, players can either choose to be on teams or can select a “rogue” mode, where it’s every player for him or herself.  Plus, LaserX can be played either indoors or outdoors regardless of whether it’s dark or a bright, sunny day.

Our family recently had the opportunity to try out the new LaserX System, and the kids absolutely loved it!  The set gave them a real laser tag feel without ever leaving home.

Upon opening the set, they quickly teamed up with each other, and our hallway became a virtual laser tag arena.  They spent hours hiding, seeking, and blasting, and even though it was a cold, rainy day outside, they took no notice of the inclement weather!

I was really surprised by how accurate the laser blasters were and how easy the equipment was to set up.  I also love the fact that unlike Nerf guns, these lasers cause no tears by anyone getting hit close range with a dart or foam bullet!  Needless to say, I’m not surprised that this is one of the hottest toys on the market this holiday season.

Each LaserX Set comes complete with 2 LaserX Blasters and 2 Receiver Vests, and are priced at $49.99 per set.  As an alternative, you can pick up a one player set with just one blaster and one vest for $24.99 as well.  LaserX can be purchased online or in-store at your local Target store location.

And now on to the giveaway!  One of my readers will have the opportunity to win a LaserX Set for two players.  Good luck to all!

Thanks for posting this review. We have three boys who are going to be awfully excited this Christmas! I was wondering what size batteries they use? I couldn’t see it listed on the website and want to be stocked up. Thanks.

Hi Marianne –

You’re very welcome! Each laser takes 3 AAA batteries. The kids have been using ours now since the beginning of November, and we haven’t had to replace the batteries as of yet (and honestly, they’re just the inexpensive dollar store batteries!).

I have to say, I’ve even played LaserX with the kids, and it’s really fun. It gives your the laser tag feel without paying for every visit! It’s one of the coolest toys the kids have had in awhile.

Merry Christmas!
